Gladwin County was organized in 1875, and is governed by the Gladwin County Board of Commissioners. This five-person board is in charge of development and approval of county policy. Within county government are upwards of twenty departments, including Clerk, Treasurer, Register of Deeds, Drain Commission, Zoning, Equalization, Construction Codes, Sheriff, and Veterans Affairs.
